Breeding to Feeding is an exciting terminal program developed to add value to dairy bull calves. Wulf Cattle and Genex Cooperative, Inc. are partnering to offer high-accuracy Limousin and Lim-Flex® bulls. Wulf Cattle is offering a buy-back contract on all calves resulting from the Breeding to Feeding program.
Wulf Cattle has been raising Limousin and buying back Limousin-influenced feeder calves for more than 30 years. The value of muscle and feed efficiency Limousin brings to a terminal cross is unmatched.
In the summer of 2010, Wulf Cattle began a trial program with neighboring Riverview Dairy to add value to their Jersey bull calves. The first Limousin X Jersey trial was a success and now with thousands of Limousin X Jersey births on our record, we can happily announce we can provide the calving ease dairy needs (98.8 % unassisted births) while giving the packer a consistant carcass fitting into their system (91% yield grade 1 and 2).
Wulf Cattle is a diversified family-owned beef operation headquartered in Morris, Minn. Since 1955, Wulf’s have focused on genetically improving modern beef production through best management practices, technology and sound science. Wulf Cattle divisions include registered Limousin and Angus seedstock in Minnesota, stocker operation and feedyards in South Dakota and Nebraska.
Breeding To Feeding is a sustainable, resource management program to produce a value-added feeder calf for a depleted national supply chain.
